Chauvin, who was fired along with three other officers who were at the scene, faces more than 12 years in prison if convicted of murder. Around 9 p.m., hundreds of protesters stopped at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Headquarters in uptown. Police said at least 30 protesters were arrested over the last few hours of the demonstrations and into the morning hours.
